Has anyone seen the new 3-D fabric? I found it in one of my local shops and it's of outer space, celestial, etc. It's very cool, but it's also about $15 a yard.

No I didn't buy any, I'm hoping that maybe the price will go down or find it cheaper once it's made more available. I've only seen it in this one shop.

I saw it a couple months ago at my LQS. They also have a fish one. It's pretty cool, but seems REALLY impractical to me. I mean, without the 3-D glasses, it's nothing special.

Who wants to wear 3-D glasses to look at a quilt?
If you really need them to see the effect, I wouldn't bother!

Yes, you really do need to use the 3-D glasses. Kind of a pain IMO.

We've got all three of them, outer space, aquarium and forest/butterflies, but are currently offering them only in kits.

They are really cool to look at, little kids love them.

15 dollars a yard? Wow, that's high, considering the wholesale cost isn't any higher than Hoffman's other fabrics.

I wonder just how much the 3D effect would remain once the fabric is cut up and sewn into a quilt. It doesn't seem like it would be the same.

I was with a couple of my friends when they bought some. Cute stuff!!!!

The butterfly one stands out the best. It is beautiful fabric even without the 3-D glasses but to see it in 3-D you need those.

I am sure that they did NOT pay $15 a yard. Maybe $11 or $12
