    The pattern was out of a magazine that I has seen, so i just cut my center blocks the size I wanted them to be, usually 6 inches works well, then cut strips of plain fabric about 3 inches wide and 7 1/2 inches long, cut diagonally and sew onto each side of the 6 inch square. Then you will need to square those squares up sothat a quarter inch seam allowance is at the narrowest corner of the block. I make a drawing of my quilt when I make the stars. Make the top left hand block first and work across the quilt adding each block as I go to make the star, if I don't then I get confused as to which block is next if I have a pile as the diagonal strip has to be just right to make the star.

    I do enjoy making these quilts, they are fun.

    Oh, I like that. What's the pattern? I've tried to do this without a pattern and haven't been successful. What's my problem? OK, just read your post. Thanks, I'll have to try your method. I think I always cut my strips too short.
