Default Bright French Braid top done.

I'm going to piece my back with some leftover Celestial, some purple with gold stars and whatever else I have leftover from the front.

If you've never done a French Braid before, you should try one. It's much easier than you'd think! This is my second and surely not my last. The hardest part is deciding which fabrics to use.

I didn't have a good place to hang it for pics, so these will have to do. I'm still deciding how to quilt it, but it will be a while before I have time to do the quilting on it.

How large is the quilt? It is bright and I love it. Wanted to know how wide and long are your individual strips and how large are the big squares. I have to make a wedding quilt for my grandson and for a king size bed. I believe this would be different than most of the quilts I have made before. I love yours.

Stunning! Only batiks could do the celestial fabric justice. I did a french braid all in batiks - soft woodsy colors - greens, browns, rusts. NOW I think I gotta try doing one in bright colors

I have a book called French Braid Quilts, by Jane Hardy Miller. http://www.amazon.com/French-Braid-Q.../dp/B004I5BMVO

Here is a free pattern for a table runner. The strips and square are larger in the table runner.

It's approx. 70x82. The strips were 2.5"x8.5", large squares 8-3/8". You'd have to make more of the braid strips and make them longer for king size.

Wow! That is a showstopper! You did so well and such nice, bright colors! A couple of my friends have made french braid quilts, and I bought the book planning to make one. I've kind of had it on the back burner. But looking at your's makes me want to try one soon. Thanks for sharing!
