Are the AccuQuilt Thingy-Ma-Bobbies worth it??
Hi all,
I am looking at a $199 price for the AccuQuilt thingies, and I am wondering what they really do? I cannot get a handle on what they are for?? I know a lot of women talk about them and seem to like them, but can someone tell me what they do, how well they do it and if they are worth the price? Thank you for any information in advance!

it depends on how much cutting you do and the repeat use of the dies.
I cut a lot of jelly rolls for classes and it has more than paid for itself in time saved.
I now have the special dies for my Avatar which will save time in cutting the kits.
However, most seem to find the Go more useful than the Baby Go.
If you should get it, don't buy a bunch of dies at first but only those you know you will use. Get some basic dies that you will use and then wait until you how much you will use others. Example. If you are going to make a Grandmother's Flower Garden then the hexagon die would certainly save a lot of time.....I bought some that I probably will never use. My 2.5" strip cutter for jelly rolls was the best buy I made.

DH just went to the town that our JoAnn Fabrics is in, and he took his checkbook, so I'm hopeful that he's thinking Christmas gift! I'm glad to read here that is is useful. How many days now until Christmas???

I preordered the Go as soon as I heard it would be available. I have the Go Baby and just recently ordered the Studio cheaper then what I paid for my Go package three years ago. The studio has more die choices. My DD uses my Go Baby for applique shapes to sew to ready made items. I won't use all of them all the time but when I want to use it I'll have it.

I happened to find an Accuquilt Go at a yard sale for $75. It was really a find. It might have been used once if at all. I really search the web for deals on dies. To me, the prices on the Accuquilt site are outrageous. There are many sites that have them and have sales on them. You might just find a "Go" with a good price, also. I have used my 6 1/2" square die the most because I have been in several "I Spy" and other swaps through this board. I love my "Go" and had wanted one quite a while before I found this one. I am sure the Studio would be wonderful but I am happy with this one for now. I would highly recommend it.

I like my studio because I can cut without hurting my hands. Also anyone can cut on it and I expect a lot of help from the grandsons because they like using it too. I too only bought dies I new I would use a lot and try to find them when on sale. I bought the 2 1/2" strip and the basic 12" square package because if has so many dies in it I can use and also got the tumbler and the hex and the isoceles triangle, I know that wasn't spelled correctly.lol
