Yippeeeeee AWESOME news dear friend.
I am so happy to hear that the job is YOURS officially and not just
on the say so of others who work for the organization.
Don't forget to send me your new address so I can change the address
list.
As for jobs I worked ALL this past week, and I KNOW that I will be
working on Monday, but maybe even more days this coming week
also.
This past week I have had to be, messenger delivery person, travel
agent, accounts payable, and other various duties.
Messenger delivery = had to take bosses laptop to store, where they
was suppose to send it to the Sony for repairs. Only to discover that
the laptop he has also INCLUDED a repair tech coming to home/business
to do repairs. So next day I made the trip again to pick up the laptop
and bring it back for boss. This was a 36 mile round trip drive (I HATE
Denver traffic).
Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday I was making the travel arrangements
for my boss to go to the "Stafda" Show in Orlando, FL (trade show). So
I got everything ready for that of course this convention isn't until Nov.
Plus in between everything else I have been learning the new software
program, which I will be entering data for 3 businesses and doing the
electronic deposits for all 3.
This coming week I will be collections calling and sending out copies of
past due invoices for 2 of the businesses (nothing new to me though).
Business is still slow, but by ME taking over many of these "mundane"
paperwork details give the boss more time to spend with his family too.
PLUS giving me much needed income.
This is why you have not seen me posting much this week.

~ thank you ladies. louise my mailing address will not change. all of my mail goes to a po box because i use to travel a lot and was always having the po to hold my mail. so it made sense to have it all go to a po box instead.
~ krystyna i will not be traveling. the executive director (a pediatrician) does the traveling as it is her supplement creation and factory shop that is in haiti. i am looking forward to going back into the not for profit world for a change of pace but i think i want to eventually finish my working career in corporate america for the benefits.
unless of course i manage to marry my retirement plan in the meantime. i am currently thinking about volunteering at a senior's retirement village looking for the one guy whom......

Welcomed home with an RAK!!!
I just returned from a two week trip to Alaska to find a wonderful package from OKsewnsew waiting to welcome me home. After battling with a crowded plane ride and a 2 and a half hour drive home, a 3 hour time change, 4 baskets of dirty clothes, and trying to find all those little things I stuffed everywhere in the suitcases to get home, 300 plus new emails, and a new wireless mouse that doesn't like to "line up" with the screen; I REALLY needed a pick-me-up. She sent me an embroidered angel (which will hang over my embroidery machine to remind me to think "good" ... or at least "better" ... thoughts each time the thread breaks) and bunch of fat quarters already assigned to some dresser scarves and table runners I need to make. But the best part of her RAK is the opportunity to get to know Jean better. Thanks so much.
I've also included a picture for all you ladies who unwillingly experience those short, tropical vacations that tend to leave us wet around the collar. Think cool thoughts!!! Alaska is absolutely amazing, and is truly an untamed frontier.

Nancy, the photos of Alaska are wonderful. Have two 2nd cousins there and is on my list of vacation sites to visit.
Louise, good for you. Sometimes its not the new job, but the old job with new duties. Doors will open.
Mary, congrats on the new job. Sometimes the new job is right around the corner. Will be thinking of you on Monday -
Just had a "date" with DH. Seems so strange to be able to leave the house now instead of worrying about Mom. She is adjusting to the memory unit as I am. We stacked and hauled wood again today. I think we will have enough for lot of "snow" days this winter. But as the sewing machines and fabrics have now been moved downstairs, I will have to move a supply of wood down there for the fireplace. Oh the exercise that I will be getting hauling it down and then the ashes up. Can't wait for a cool day!!!

Many thanks to Luvstoquilt for the native american fabric. I love it. Was pleasantly surprised as this is my first RAK received and wasn't even thinking about it when I got the package...was trying to think of who I knew in IL!!LOL! It came at a good time as I was feeling a little down and the nice surprise cheered me right up!

I, too was RAK'ed by luvstoquilt and very close to my birthday too. Thank you for the embroidery thread. It will be put to great use in my needlepunch projects, and the card was very sweet as well. I'd almost forgotten about being on the list as I've been too sick to send anything out and hadn't gotten anything in so long.

Greeting ladies!!!
As to scraps, I love to make scrappy pp quilts. So like the long strips, even if they are narrow.
Louise, you collect mugs - can you tell me what states you don't have. I work at an antique mall every Monday - so started looking for them yesterday.
Have a great day.
