Default Building Little Houses from Scraps

There is a new challenge in Blog Land. A blogger in The Netherlands has started a challenge to build little three-inch house blocks from scraps. In the end, they will be sewn together to make a large quilt.

You have to scroll down and read all the posts in this link, and they are written in Dutch, then translated into English. The pattern is published along the left side bar. Her pattern in intended to be hand-sewn; however, there is also a pattern for paper-piecing. If you scroll down a few posts, you'll find it. And if you can't find it, send me a PM, and I'll send it to you. Here is the link to the challenge:

And here is my first little house. Mine is paper-pieced. I like this challenge because I'll be able to use my tiniest little scraps.

Thanks for posting this link. I love paper piecing, and like you said, you can use up a lot of small pieces. I'd like to do this, but I have a bad habit of starting something gung-ho and then loosing interest. 366 squares is a lot of squares!! If you do what she suggests-one per day it sounds more "do-able" Maybe I will.

I have the pattern and looking forward to using up a lot of my scraps making these. I think it is going to be a pretty big quilt.

Very nice pattern to use scraps. I can read Dutch so no problem for me. This will be a very nice quilt and easy to do.
Ty so much.

It would be cool to donate these quilts to raise funds for homeless shelters and or food pantries. Thanks for the link.

Great idea! I wonder if we can get some together here on the QB?
Your little house came out very cute catrancher! Thanks for posting! Hey, did you see the funny post about cats in general chit chat? "Borrowed from the FB..."

Yes, I did see it. I sent it to my husband and asked him if I could have one of those kits for my birthday. He just laughed. (I wasn't kidding. . . hm.)

When I go to get the pattern, my computer tells me that "the link is broken and cannot be fixed."
Guess I can find another 3" house somewhere~~

Hm. I just tried it and it works for me. It appears to be working for the people who replied before you too. Maybe try it again? If it doesn't work, I'd be happy to send you the pattern. Just PM me and tell me if you want the paper-pieced pattern or the pattern that was published on the website (which is intended to be hand pieced).
