I bought a pair of cotton pants for work and found them to be really comfortable; however they only had a tiny
pocket in the front. Today I remedied that, since the pants have side seams I was able to sew some side seam
pockets in them. At work I need to be able to carry my store keys and a few other items in my pockets, as we lock
our purses in a drawer.
The pants look great and I'm happy with the results. Who's bright idea was it to make women's pants without any pockets???

Great idea! I have sewn for years and never thought of doing that. Glad to know. Thanks Sharon.

I dunno but whoever thought it up doesn't realize that some of us do carry things in them !LOL like a cell phone, ID, maybe even cash or a credit card so we don't have to take in our purses !

I sew old jean pockets on my sweat shirts. Also make all kinds of pockets from scraps for other pants and house dresses that don't have pockets.

I have not carried a purse for years, since I worked in an isolated office where I could not lock my purse. If I left my desk I had to carry the purse, which gets old quickly. Now, I primarily buy cargo pants and shorts now. Suits had to have pockets both in jacket and skirt. Now I rarely wear anything but pants.

I don't know who but I have often thought whoever it is should be stood out in the public square to hear how we want our pockets back.

I don't buy pants without pockets any more. I'm always putting my keys in my pocket instead of my purse so they're easier to find. Plus I ran a stockroom and was always carrying a marker, box cutter, etc. in my pockets. Nurse's scrub tops are great too.

Pants without pockets are just wrong! I think the designers don't put them in because most pants lay flatter without them and it cost less to make them. I rarely buy pants if they don't have pockets. I LOVE the person who thought of putting 2-3% spandex or elastic in my denim blue jeans!

I agree with Tartan that pants w/out pockets are wrong! I haven't done the side seam thing but I have split side seam pockets and fron jeans pockets and made them bigger/ deeper. Smart move on your part!!

My pet peeve is ladies pants with pockets so shallow that you lose anything you put in them!
