Hi everyone I was wondering as to whether any of you can advise me on where I can get templates for the lone star. All help would be appreciated. Thanks.

i'm not sure what 'templates' you are wanting- i've made many lonestars- but never with templates.
my favorite lonestar pattern to use is the pre-printed fusable interfacing from QuiltSmart. it makes them go together very quickly and precisely- and available in a number of sizes.
the Elenor Burns lonestar is another good one- that one is strip pieced-
there are a number of patterns available- but i don't know about 'templates'
perhaps PaperPieces.com has a template based pattern- if so they would also have all of the needed templates- they are where i get alot of my flowergarden & tumbling block templates- i know they have alot to choose from.

I just use the angle mark on my regular ruler. No extra expense and it works. Of course I recheck the angle frequently as I go ... almost every other cut. One wrong cut can throw out the rest of the cuts.

Most Lone Star quilts I've seen lately are strip pieced ones. You work out your colour strata for the large diamond shapes. You then use the 60º? rule line to cut a strip at a time. There are many videos on the net for this method. I don't recall any plastic templates for rotary cutting individual diamond shapes but they may be out there. Back in the old days, if you wanted an individual template you cut it yourself from cereal box cardboard.
