Default Look what I did with my tag sale find!!!

I found a crewel work bedspread at a tag sale for $20.00. I think it was for a full bed but I have a queen bed. I bordered it, sandwiched and birthed it, and then because I always wanted to try a whole cloth quilt, I decided to FMQ in the white spaces of the crewel work. Some of the FMQ I took from designs, others I just made up. This was all done on my BabyLok Quilter's Pro midarm machine. I thought it came out really well. The linen was a bit slippery so there are some mistakes but nothing I can't live with. Wish I knew who did the crewel work!

It is so sad to see something as beautiful as this sold, isn't it? Glad you saved it. Someone put their heart into it. So did you.

It was killing me to see all that hard work go for just $20.00. I have done crewel work and it isn't easy. I was really glad to be able to repurpose it. I am going to see if I can find out who made it and maybe get it signed.

Hope you find out who the original crewel artist was....but the fact that you were able to "save" and use it and that this has now passed through two sets of loving and talented hands makes it so special.
