I have the Viking Diamond Deluxe and before that I had the Ruby. You'll love the Topaz 30. Take advantage of the classes they'll really get you hooked. The only problem that I have is that I have to work and can't take even more classes and learn even more that I do. This isn't a finiky machine, it takes all kinds of thread and very easy to use. Enjoy your machine.

And, before you dry your palms you can use your new machine to embroidery a grilling design on it just for your hubby since he was so great. You both were great to each other. Ain't love grand (and yes, very expensive) but you only go around once.

I've had my Topaz 30 almost 5 years and love it. I do take the vacumn to it each month to keep it clean between cleanings by the professional. The more I use it the more I learn what it can do. I have had sergers and machines by Viking since 1985 and have been pleased with all the machines. The only reason I got new ones is because I wanted to upgrade. They are real work horses!

Congratulations! I love my Topaz 30. Mom left me a gift when she passed nearly 3 years ago. I bought my Topaz 30 from her, then I got one for two of my daughters. It's a great legacy from their grandma. Thanks mom!

Good for you. You know men never have trouble spending money on their "toys" but we women could take a page from their book. When I bought my Bernina 820, it was on sale for $6500.00 + 13% tax so over $7,000. I was going to turn 65 so I figured that $100.00 for each of my birth years was not such an extravagance. Men spend $10-15,000 on a skidoo here in Canada & don't bat an eye. As the commercials all say "we are worth it." ENJOY your machine & give lots of hugs to your DH. He's a keeper for sure.
