Default Night Diamonds

I began piecing this quilt in 2006 and finished quilting it on my domestic machine this past winter. I didn't really like it after all these years and I only saw my quilting mistakes! I pulled it out again and it was striking to me. I decided to share on the board with you all. The sun was too bright outside. The color is purple, not blue. I remember I used a black batting. The pattern was from a magazine and I don't remember which one! Hope you enjoy seeing my quilt. It is a large one- approx. 90 by 110.

Beautiful! love the brightness and the variety of fabrics used! How long did it take to accumulate all those fabrics? There's a lot of work there .... congratulations on completing it.

Yes, there was a lot of work on this quilt. I don't remember where all the prints came from, my Mom contributed some and I picked them up at lots of stores. I completed the piecing 6 or 7 years ago and have very little of those fabrics around anymore!

I'm always envious of people who have an eye for color and can tell the difference between mediums and darks, because I certainly can't. Your quilt is lovely, your fabric placement is just perfect and I'm so glad you posted it so that I can admire.
