Default Craigslist Listing

For those of you living in the Houston, Texas area, check out this posting on Craigslist. I have never heard of an Alphasew Quilting machine but is an exact replica of a Singer Featherweight.

Antique Singer Replica - $150 (Cypress)

This an an Alphasew Quilter Portable sewing machine. It is in like-new condition and works great! This is a Replica of an antique singer sewing machine. As you can see in the photo the asking price when I got this sewing machine was $299. I am asking $150. That is HALF PRICE for a great sewing machine!!

It comes with a hard carrying case that locks.

I've seen adds for these Chi-Com Featherweights before. I got my wife's real one for less than $300.00 so there's no way I'd pay $150.00 for a used clone.

I have never seen one in person, but the research indicates that they are to be avoided....

Alphasew is a well know company , They runs adds for parts that I think they really don't have,, as in certain industrail hooks ect , Also thats who makes most all this chinese aftermarket junk...

These FW's have been around 10 yrs that I know of ,, I often wonder how many buy these and think they have a real singer. ever notice and wonder why there are so many FW's still around today ?? so many being sold. why everone seem's to have 4 each LOLOL...

I never heard of them. $150 is quite high for a replica. I got my black FW for about $225 with shipping off ebay a few years ago and my white FW for only $80 off Craigslist. Both in very good condition and the real thing.

These things run $500 new, which is completely ridiculous.

Any price over $50 is too much, though I imagine people buy them all the time.

Sewing.patternreview.com has a good comparison of the featherweight and alphasew
If you google "221 vs. Alphasew Quilter's Portable" you will find that comparison... Lots of pictures, too.
