Couldn't you hook up a couple of the "extra" sewing machine motors to a wheely walker?

AZKAT,

That would take a loooooonnnggggggg extension cord. Hmmmm, maybe I could rig up a treadle base and power a wheel chair that way. Nah, wouldn't go fast enough.

So sorry to hear about your troubles, Joe. Sounds like the new DR is encouraging about his treatment plan. As a nurse, do what you can as you can and no more. too much work of those hurt muscles will damage the muscle. rest as much as you can however you can. If you need to sit up to rest , do it. Lie down? do it. listening to calming music or shows that make you laugh will relieve stress to help your healing.
Elaine, you are in my prayers also. Get well, and don't over work yourself while Joe is down.

The medicine Joe has been on has not been effective. Joe I'm keeping you, Elaine and your doctor in my prayers. Keep a positive hopeful attitude, both of you - keep fighting.

Joe and Elaine, I'm keeping both of you in my prayers. And your doctors too.

Joe and Elaine,
I hope you can feel the love we all are sending to you both. Be encouraged and of good faith that our prayers will be answered soon.
Hugs to you both.
