Default New machine to tinker with ......

My wife left me all alone this morning and went yard saleing. Gave me more time to sleep .
When she came home she had an Emdeko LT-72 Select n Sew machine.

It came with 32 cams, some extra pressure feet and bobbins. No manual though. It was all gummed up from old oil and lack of use and the button hole knob set screw was loose.

The cams will make dog, duck, flower, fish, and a whole bunch of other patterns. I'll post more pics and a report on it when I get it cleaned and serviced.

Tri-Flowed it up yesterday afternoon. The Tri-Flow dissolved some of the old oil and freed the machine up a lot.
Last night I smelled a horrid rancid odor in the house. Traced it to the machine. Whatever the old oil is, it reaks. This one will need much cleaning and more Tri-Flow.

I haven't tried any decorative stitches yet, got more freeing up to do.

Any plastic in the innards? Will be interested in the cleaning progress. I am also impressed with the number of cams that came with the sewing machine. Elaine done good.

    Caroline,

There are two gears on the top I can find. Both look to be steel. The hook drive is gear driven but it's in a covered pocked and I haven't opened it up to check yet. I'm hoping for an all steel machine.
