Default Inherited a Singer

I couldn't sleep, so tried to check machine that was one of Mother's. I will get pics when I can get it out and cleaned up more. Did get model #AK651968. Do not know where she got it. No idea of year model. It is in cabinet and have lot of attachments. Maybe I can get it moved and get pics soon. Is the # any help on identifying? By the way; it does run and I have sewn on it. Just haven't had it out in a few years. I have used her Bernina 830 Record a lot!
Okay......found serial # on Singer site. It was made in 1951. Maybe not antique, but I like it.

based on the Serial number and age, it will be a 15-90 (belt driven) or 91 (potted motor).

I have one of each and love them both

A potted motor is attached directly onto the back of the sewing machine. There is no belt, it is gear driven.

A picture would tell the story.

Either way these are good machines if cleaned and oiled properly! Get it out and start using it.
