VERY Early Peerless buttonholer

This unit dates to around 1887-1888
It is for the Singer VS2.
As I understand it, this was the first successful buttonholer for Singers.
Inboard

Here is it with my other two early Buttonholers (1900-1940)

and from the underside

here they are with their slide plates (don't have one for the middle one yet)

here are a couple shots of it test fit onto my DD's 28 Handcrank.
I am hoping to find the screw needed to attach it to the presser bar this weekend so I can try it out on Sunday evening. ( it uses a Singer 15 stitch length adjustment screw...or one very much like it)

I still have not had any luck finding the correct screw to hold the old one on. but last night I was able to test out the "Famous" buttonholer.
