VERY Early Peerless buttonholer

Subscribe
This unit dates to around 1887-1888

It is for the Singer VS2.

As I understand it, this was the first successful buttonholer for Singers.

Thanks for the pictures - now I have something else to add to my "look for" list.

Much fun to look at. I seem to be attracted to little bags of random attachments at garage sales.

for those who geek on things like this.

here are a couple shots of it test fit onto my DD's 28 Handcrank.

I am hoping to find the screw needed to attach it to the presser bar this weekend so I can try it out on Sunday evening. ( it uses a Singer 15 stitch length adjustment screw...or one very much like it)

Thanks for sharing! I have never seen one that old before.

I still have not had any luck finding the correct screw to hold the old one on. but last night I was able to test out the "Famous" buttonholer.
