Being a doctor,I can tell you that you have to have a light bulb that wants to change,an insurance plan that has change on their pre- authorization list, a form with several pages that the office lady has to fill out,a billing service that knows the new 7 digit codes for change...Well,you get the picture!

I agree with the good Doctor - worked in billing and accounts receivable at a hospital for 21 years. Great answer!!

Yes, and if a specialist is involved, the primary care doctor has to agree with the specialist, and then they shift you to yet another specialist. DON'T ask me how I know!
Elfi2, I always have 2nd thoughts about posts, too! :-)

I know some really great Drs. that would like to be able practice medicine with less paperwork and lower liability insurance costs.

How many psychiatrists does it take to change a light bulb?

Only one, but the light bulb must really want to change...
