You sew the three triangles that make up one side of the block together, sew the other three triangles together, then pin them together so you don't lose the mate. When you have all your halves made, put them on your design wall just like you want to sew them. You will sew them together in rows from top to bottom, then sew the rows together. It is very easy, but you do have to have somewhere to lay out the whole quilt, do label your rows so they stay in order and remember to sew the first long seam from top to bottom and when you join the pairs, quads, etc together, sew from bottom to top so you don't get warping.

I sew in strips, top to bottom, and then join the strips. Same as Farm Quilter.

heres a picture of the triangles before they are sewn together. Maybe you can see a little better how they are connected.

So, I AM seeing a triangle used to connect each cube so that I can sew them together in rows. Right?

yes! that's all there is to it. Rows of triangles. Simple, when you break it down ;-)

Well guess what! I just discovered I have the book One-Block Wonders Cubed and never used it. However, in just glancing through I haven't seen the part where you make more background triangles to even out the design. I understand if the whole quilt is made up of cube blocks. I did see where it calls for cutting the outside strips individually but the Penny Halgren video makes the process much easier IMHO by using one long strip & sewing triangles to it then flip & trim. The One-Block book has instructions for appliqueing cubes to the background. It may have other methods of getting blocks on background but I'm not that far into it yet.
