the quick cutter 2? I think that is the name of it. It holds your fabric in place while you cut it. It also has an arm on it so that you can cut angles easily. I saw one at a quilt show a couple of years ago. I couldn't afford it then. But, I have been looking for one to purchase now. Do any of you have one or recommend it? And, what exactly is it called?

I think you are referring to the Alto's Quilt Cut 2. Mine needs fixed, but many others love theirs.

My friend has one and loves it. I would love one but am too cheap to spend the money for it. If I find one at the right price for me - look out!

Yes, that is the one. Yours is broken? Are they flimsy? I'm hoping there will be a representative at this year's Miller Bowie Quilt Show so I can get one.

I have looked at them several times, with the room they take up and the cost, I decided that my ruler, rotary cutter, and cutting mat make more since for me. I just go slow and careful. Maybe if I had a hard time holding my ruler, cutter, or had trouble controlling my fabric, I would be more interested.

No, they are not flimsy, but I bought mine used, and it turns out I paid too much, because the cutting mat is shot, and the ruler you cut against will not lay straight and line up with the mark at the top. I called the company this time last year and was told there was a problem with some of the Quilt Cuts which were converted to the Quilt Cut 2 (which mine is). The rep was very nice and offered to "sell" me an new Quilt Cut 2 for $100 plus shipping, if I send him the "broken" one, so they can take it out of circulation. I intended to do that at that time, but it was the holidays, busy, and it just didn't happen. Now I need to get in gear and do it. Once you add the $100 to the price I already paid for the one I have, it's at least as much as just buying a new one in the first place would have been.
