    Default Hi from North Carolina

I am new to the quilting board and also new to long arm quilting. I am ordering my first longarm now. I grew up around q quilter. My grandmother made many quilts on a frame that my grandfather made for her. All of her quilts were machine pieced but totally hand quilted. I proudly have several. I currently have four tops made and one almost finished just waiting for this to arrive. I have a question I hope can be answered to help me get ready for this. How much room around the frame do I need. The frame is 10' and is a Inspira Iquilt with an 18x8 Mega Quilter. It does have the rear handles too. Thanks in advance, Gail

Welcome from OHIO! I have a mid-arm mega quilter on the Inspira frame and for that I need enough room to comfortably get all the way around the frame. It may be different for a long arm, and if so, someone on here will let you know.

Thanks - I kind of think it will be the same with a long arm. Looking forward to learning this method and so looking forward to all the great info on this site.

Hello to Texas. So glad your husband is an organ recipient and thankful for the success. I have been registered as an organ donor for many years.
