Default OH no I did it again-Jones Federation Family CS hand crank- Not a Singer!

While on my avid search for a reasonable priced Singer 403, I found a little Jones girl hand crank, that I just could not pass up. She looked beautiful on first inspection Her decals are almost new, then I opened the machine and no shuttle or bobbin or round needles that re needed. So seller and I adjusted price until I was satisfied and I brought her home. Then in clear daylight I noticed that her needle bar and presser foot were just horrible black, hard ,with gunk! and taking a gander inside, it looks to me as the only thing that was cleaned and beautifully preserved was the outside of machine! No rust though. I began with just good singer oil on everything and let in soak overnight. I was taking pictures of the foot and needle area with the front slide plate off, I turned the hand crank a little, took the pic, looked at it and nearly fainted, the the shuttle and bobbin had appeared in the carrier! They must have been stuck some where and the overnight oiling did the job. Now I feel somewhat guilty, although we had taken the machine from the base and looked under neath it, and gave it a shake at her house.

Wow - those decals are gorgeous! I wouldn't feel guilty about what you paid - you both honestly thought the parts were missing, and it was pure luck finding them.

Between this machine and the one in your avatar, I am envious of your ability to find the really pretty ones!
