Default Need Some Ideas

I just finished piecing this full size quilt for my brother. I am lost as to how to actually quilt it. I have a long arm and many machine patterns but am coming up short as to what would look best. I am open to suggestions. We are in the process of getting furniture in to match the headboard too.

I think it would look good with a wood grain/zebra stripe pattern following the strips of dark and light fabric. Can you do that on a long arm on the diagonal? Maybe if you mount it on point?

One easy way to decide if you like a pattern.... go to a store that sells the clear heavy weight vinyl. Use a piece that is maybe 14" x 14" or whatever you choose. Use a marker that you can wipe off the vinyl & trace a pattern that you think you would like on the quilt. Place the vinyl on the quilt top. Take a picture with your phone. If you like it, you are done. If not, wipe the original pattern off & copy another on it. Preview the patterns until you get one you like.

I always thought that if you had curves on a quilt you would want to quilt curves, but I have found just the opposite most of the time. Straighter lines look good on round or curvy blocks while curlicues or Baptist fans look fantastic on log cabins. It's all in what you like.

Look forward to seeing what you choose.

Very pretty. Since I either do straight line or a large meander/FMQ/large stipple on a DSM. I can't give suggestions on quilting pattern.

Maybe some sort of animal print. With that pattern a zebra print would probably look really good.

I agree something with a zebra pattern I would keep the lights stitch with a light thread and the darker with a darker thread so I wouldn't stitch across the dark into the light side. GOOD LUCK !! I am sure he will enjoy for years to come.

How about something leafy - would remind me of animals in the jungle. That is an awesome quilt

I don't know why but an all over orange peel came to mind.
