This block is going to together amazingly well. I'm opening every seam to keep the center bulk down. I have too many greens for my liking, but I'm going to work it with more greens in a corner--to blues--deeper blues--lighter--and back to greenish... kind of show the depth of the lake. I think all that sounds like a nice idea, but might go by the wayside.

The greens may have to be saved for "A Walk Through the Woods."

It definitely needs more blues, and especially in the corner triangles... but here's the start of a new top.
First two of the blocks...

And six together....

That is really pretty! I like your thought of the progression of color, it would look beautiful, like water.

Me, too, Jim's. :D It's so helpful for me to study a photo--I take lots of them for all my lay outs.

I can see this one will include turning each block the right way for effect... sigh... my next quilt is going to be a Triple Irish Chain--no turning blocks or big decisions in lay-outs with that one! (right?)

That's going to be a stunning quilt! I love the blue batik fabrics you're using, and I like the lights, too!

Well--I took three of the fabrics out of the mix and searched through my batiks and found a small piece of three others that will work. I'm headed to a huge fabric store Friday--so will see if there's something more that will work...I think it needs 2-3 more options with so many pieces in each square.... I'll still use the squares I made... except the first one--I sewed a double layer of a triangle into a slice of that one... and the center is too knotty.

I keep wondering what the effect would be if the lights were darks and the darks were lights...
