Default My first Carpenter's Star

I am really loving the star quilts.. This is my first carpenter's star. I am still trying to decide on the borders.. I am loving the braided borders but I don't want to take away from my star and I have never made them being a beginner maybe I should just keep it simple (love to challenge myself tho). I was then thinking maybe color alternating 2 x 6 inch strips around or just making a plain dark blue boarder binding it with white?? Any suggestions? Found lots of places to improve on from the last quilt to this one and many more to improve on for the next quilt but its so much fun learning..

Can't give you any good advice on the border. Just wanted to say that I think your star is absolutely beautiful!

Beautiful star quilt. That one is on my bucket list. Nice work. As for the border, I would like maybe a dark blue print.

Yes, a dark blue print for the border would look great! You did a lovely job. I'm hoping to make this one next. If all goes well it will be a present for my mother-in-law for Christmas.

You could even do a floral border with those colors. I don't think it would take away from the star at all. Do a search on that pattern and look at Images. See what others have done. Have fun!!

Beautifully done....I love that block and have done it with everything from 1.5 inch to 6 inch piece blocks. Don't forget to show us again when you have the border done.
