First attempt to tying a quilt....help.
I have a quilt that I want to try to tye. I am going to use a flannel for the backing and sew in the ditch and tye. Do I use spray adhesive to sandwich together or is something else I can use? I don't have any quilting pins. I will be using cotton pearl for the tying part. Any suggestions are welcome!

Are there going to be two or three layers to your sandwich? Some people don't use a batting when they are using flannel. What fabric is the front; cotton?
But yes, basically the spray basting will do just fine. If using a batting, spray the fabric, not the batting. And the flannel will tend to "stick" to the batting without any spray but with handling it to tie, I'd use it to be safe.

The top is cotton and backing is flannel. I was going to use batting in between.

Sew in the ditch AND tie? Usually (tho not always) it's one or the other. That said, regardless of whether I'm quilting or tying a quilt, I both spray and pin the layers together. Any safety pins will do the job. (The spray allows me to use fewer pins than I would otherwise.)
