Those are both very nice machines, especially the Windsor (condition-wise, at least). And the price for the Windsor seems decent except travel costs would have to be taken into account. Perhaps that's why they priced it where they did.

If she's happy, then that's what matters. I assume she's a rational person and that the machines were worth more to her than the money she paid for them, thus the exchange: $100 ea. in exchange for serviced machines. She's better off (in her mind) and so is the seller (in his/her mind).

Sorry if I came across too strongly. As I grow in knowledge (baby steps, in my case), I'm becoming more aware of what I can do for myself rather than pay others to do for me. I can perform the very basic servicing of a machine fairly quickly and easily, so I'm becoming more critical of the sewing machine marketplace. In no way did I mean to imply that the eBay seller discussed above is dishonest. I'm just not sure how much 'servicing' she actually performed; from her pictures and from my knowledge of 15 clones and Kenmore machines generally, probably very little was needed. That's OK -- no doubt she puts more time/effort into other machines.

And no one's being forced to buy.

Ok- someone needs to go find out if that Windsor is an old enough machine to take the Older style Eldredge Shuttle instead of the newer style National shuttle. . .

I'm beginning the process of thinning the herd.

I just made my first sale about 10 minutes ago. I placed the CL ad about 10:30 am and was contacted about 15 minutes later. We decided to meet at 1 pm and it's gone. It's amazing how quickly these sell if they're priced to move.

Well... there's a switch! Reasonably priced Bernina,... oh no wait.

I think I know why they might not have used it...

I've only seen one other of these:

Not a bad price but I'd ask for a closeup.

Looks like it may be a Centennial.

Some of those Janome made Kenmore machines are pretty nice.

I'll never understand not showing the front of the machine.
