I am in awe of y'all that you can take these machines get them cleaned up and running! About the most technical thing I can do is change my needle/presser foot/stitch

you'll be surprised at how simple the engineering on these antique machines is. google/web/youtube is your friend. i started from nothing and learning a lot especially from the members here. i am mostly at awed everytime i see an antiques machines and see the inside - an 80 years or more old machine yet so pristine and will keep on running for another 100 years or so. you will be able to do it too, trust me. you just need to have patience and the right tools and the persistency to bug all the members here.

I just remembered I bought a second. 96k on Tues. Just don't have it yet. It bothers me that I could have forgotten this.
Perhaps time for professional help?

Yes it's Australian but I live in Australia: Not so rare here :-)
The darning foot probably is though but I expect people won't generally see that.

just picked out another one, but I didn't buy it, I had my husband do it LOL!! It's a New Home model K. Now we'll see if it gets here before the Model A shows up. That one is still hasn't had any tracking updated for 3 days. Hope it's not stuck in a snowbank somewhere!

Well, I made it until the 11th of January...

As of last night I won the auction for a 1941 Singer A3 Right-hand Stainless Steel (HA! Look it up!) with case and manuals!!! I have been wanting one of these for a while.

Turns out the seller is in SF and will be visiting the Highland Hospital Oakland (near me) Tuesday so I can pick it up in person!!!
