Default Brother SQ9050 refuses to cooperate

I simply can't find the secret to correct tension to quilt designs on my machine. It's so frustrating. I have a quilt I'm able to practice on but the back of the quilt stitch's don't look as nice as the front. Arrrggghhh!!!

OK, how don't they look nice? Pokies? Loops? Can you post a picture?

I agree, maybe someone that quilts on it as well can help if you post a picture. I have one, but don't use it to quilt just to sew and piece

Crappy stitching samples - I changed my thread to Coats and Clark....much better but what's on the bottom doesn't look as good as the top.

Tighten your top tension a bit, looks like it is too loose to pull up that bobbin thread, thus you are getting what I call railroad tracks.

Geri -- I moved the top tension to almost 3. I will have to stitch on light fabric tonight to see if that works better. I've been stitching on black fabric with black thread and it's very difficult to assess if the new tension setting makes much of a difference for the better. Will let you know. Thanks... - Julie
