Well here we go
OK, Let's see how I do this! Found you guys last March while trying to teach myself a little quilting. Now ready to chat it up with some quilters.
I'm Bonnie from outside of Atlanta. Hubs bought me 2 machines over a year ago as a major milestone birthday gift. I kept saying one day I'd try to quilt, guess he was tired of seeing me fondle fabric for no reason. I grew up on a farm in KY where Mother taught me embroidery and tacking. Fast forward a few decades..Mom has dementia and has moved here with us. She is unable to recall anything to do with quilting today so more the reason for me to learn this, to honor both her and the art itself.
Would love to dip my toe in a easy swap or get involved in a group. I've much to learn and much practice to do. Two of my three "pieced projects" are in my album. Already incoming UFO's wouldn't you know! I'm just now playing with applique, would like to learn hand applique to use as a stress relief. Chat soon I hope.

Welcome from NJ. I'm another self-taught quilter as well. Fortunately 'Simply Quilts' was being aired on HGTV at the time and was a wealth of information. You can do this! And, as much as I enjoy handwork of just about any type, I've yet to be able to master applique. One day, maybe. Enjoy.

Waving from NC. Hello and a big welcome! I love our swaps here. Just keep watching the swaps until one of them seems right for you, then jump in. You'll be hooked for life. There's always someone here to answer any questions you might have.

Welcome from Florida! There are a few quilt shops in Atlanta I have had my eye on, so go there and you will meet quilters and find out about any Guilds in the area. But also, Welcome to the Board! There are some great folks here, everyone chips in to help with questions.
