Default Scottie Dog Toddler Quilt with a Warning

I made this quilt for a baby shower coming up for a friend. Saw a picture of a little scottie dog wall hanging on Pinterest. This quilt was inspired from that picture. Designed it in EQ7. Cautionary warning: when you are using recycled shirts, watch out for small tears in the fabric. When I was quilting, discovered a tiny tear in one of the four patches. It was too late to repair without taking out all the quilting--so add a bone patch. I wasn't real happy about it, but it saved the quilt.

Love your quilt and the bone patches are appropriate and add to the quilt nicely. Kudos for a lovely doggie quilt.

That is a darling quilt and I think the bones add something to it.

I agree with idamae. The bone adds character! Very cute quilt for a little boy.

Very cute. I would not use anything but new fabric to make a quilt.

Most of the fabric is new but somehow the lighter shirt fabric plaid and stripe was the perfect choice for my vision. My grandmother and dear aunts who made fabulous quilts would have been in big trouble if they only used new fabric. My 100% cotton shirts are laundered and in good condition. I just so happened to miss a little tear put in the fabric by my seam ripper when I was taking apart the shirt. I love the variety I have added to my stash with the wonderful plaids in shirts.
