Default help finding flowers for applique

Does anyone know where to find flowers for applique other than EQ 5-7 ? EQ seems to have nothing but tulips, tulips, tulips. Their roses are just dull. I have about 15 of them cut out, but they are just boring, and I'm looking for something different. I'm going to JoAnn's Saturday for a few butterfly's and birds and bee's to scatter throughout my flower quilt to see if that will spruce it up. If I have time I will go by the library and see what kind of pictures they have.
I did find my ruler from Sue Pelland to cut out leaves, which are prettier that EQ's, so I cut out a few of them tonight and will mix them with some EQ flowers.
    Thanks, Syl

I find many things for applique in the free coloring pages. I will not use any that have a copyright watermark! Luann

There are some pretty ones on the coloring pages as well, you can use the arrow to scroll through. http://www.raisingourkids.com/colori...ets-roses.html I saw a nice calla lily there as well.

When I did my floral alphabet, I used google search for drawing of flowers. Using the simplest I would trace a print out and make an applique of that. There are a lot represented as colouring pages too.
Look around a bit beyond quilting stores etc.

One time I cut out 4 small hearts and arranged them in a circle, points pointing to the inside, then placed a circle in the center, to just cover the points. I clustered 3 together, then added leaves, and placed in the corners of a border on a quilt. It looked beautiful. You might try that.

There are lots of flower applique books out there by carol Armstrong, Beth Ferrier, Sylvia Pippen, Susan Taylor Propst, just to name a few as I am sure they are more. They all have very lovely applique flowers

I'm with the others. Try a search for coloring book flowers. I buy quilting books and magazines at thrift stores a lot of older ones have simple line drawings in them for either applique of quilting motifs. Both work well for applique. Also if you're into certain styles of period furniture like Arts & Crafts or Art Nouveau with heavily stylized flowers check out books and magazines featuring those styles. There's usually plenty of inspiration there.
Here's an Art Nouveau Singer treadle drawer:

This is from the treadle that Kayluvstoquilt here gave to me a couple months ago. I think the wood applique on the drawer would transfer readily into either a quilting motif or a fabric applique for a quilt. Maybe someday...
