Default Suggestions for binding on a scrap quilt

I made a scrap quilt using fabric from my stash but cannot decide on what to use for the binding. Since the quilt has so many colors in it, what color should the binding be? A neutral? Pieced? In an quandary.

I realized after looking at the picture that I could have placed the blocks in a more pleasing order. But it is for me so that is okay with me. Also, I am trying to learn to machine quilt and this is not very well done but it is the first larger quilt that I have done. Hopefully I will get better at it. Not so many jerky motions and corners! LOL

Scrap quilt scrap binding. Or maybe just use primary colors. Your quilt.

On a scrap quilt with lots of color I also like a solid binding, perhaps in color that seems to be prominent in the quilt.

If the quilt is very busy I use a dark border then bind it - so it kind of stops the busy.

I do the same a quitingcandy. On my scrappy's I like to do whatever my favorite color is in the quilt. Usually it's what my mind considers to be a "beautiful color". Then I bind in either a dark brown, navy or black binding. To me it "frames" the quilt edge like a mat and a frame.

I often use a scrappy binding to match the scrappy quilt.

We all have to start somewhere on our quilting. Once it is done even those issues won't be noticed much. Everyone has good suggestions for the binding. That is what is nice about scrap quilts -- they can be anything and still be fun.

I cut all my bindings the same width and keep the left over bits and pieces to stitch together for my scrappy quilts.

on my scrappies, I either use all black as a frame, or all scraps put together to keep it cohesive.
