Maybe with all of the crazy weather it thinks Christmas is around the corner!

Are you sure it's a Christmas Cactus? It might be an Easter Cactus, which is very similar but blooms this time of year. I'm in western PA, and it snowed here this morning - if you guys are experiencing the same, goofy weather, maybe your cactus is confused. I know I am!

No it is a Christmas Cactus. Has always bloomed at Christmas time. I have had it for 10 years or more, and is huge. Flowers are probably 3 or 4 inches long before they open all the way. Beautiful bright pink color.

Mine just bloomed. only three blossoms though. Before that it bloomed just before ThanksGiving! To get mine to bloom before, I had to put it into the basement a couple of weeks. now, I have no idea what it's doing.

Mine bloomed from Oct to Feb, took a break and is now blooming again. We turn our heat way down at night and I think that may be why it has bloomed this time around. I think it likes the cooler room!!

My 4 Christmas cactus only had a few blooms at Christmas and are continuing to bloom. I blamed it on where I had them. I moved them and they weren't near a window. Now they are near a window. Hoping for a beautiful display this coming winter. They usually are in full bloom around Thanksgiving and continue through Christmas. Perhaps they need to be fed. Will have to research that online.

There are actually three -- Thanksgiving (frequently sold as Christmas), Christmas, and Easter. My Easter is blooming a deep red. I have had my Christmas bloom more than one time. It all depends on the amount of dark hours where it is sitting.
