A friend of mine is moving from her home of 37 years. She contacted me and wanted to donate 7 boxes of quilting fabric to my quilt guild. She also wanted to sell her centennial featherweight. I brought the machine home and my husband cleaned and oiled it. My dilemma is I would really like to buy it but I already have a 1937 featherweight and the table. She is asking $400. It is in really good condition. The case is great except for the top right side which is worn. I have been told that the centennial models are getting harder to come by. Any thoughts?

I would pay that if it runs well. They are so hard to find now, to get one from a friend is excellent!

Go for it. I have a complete centennial FW in near prefect condition that I bought for $299.

I would politely say it is a little high priced and offer $300.00. It is all in how you converse with her. Really it is only a badge that makes it different. Good luck and let us know how you did.

Nice machine but I think that's a little high. I have one and I think I paid 175.00
I see quite a few of them on eBay. But maybe offering $300 would be more reasonable

They are not that rare at all. I've bought two of them-paid $265 for one and $300 for the second one, both on eBay.

I bought one (a Centennial) at an estate sale for $70...a couple of years ago...I have 7 and all but one were$40 - $100
