Default math / on snails tail block

I want to make shakespeare in the park my 4 center squares will be 3.5 so I have to add 4 rounds of half triangles to make 12.5
my question is each round come out with the1/2 for seam
like the first round looks like it will come out to 7, before seaming the next round.
Is this Right as I don`t want to mess up my beautiful batik!
    Thanks Gale

I have been wanting to make one in purples and pinks but I have a pattern from a magazine that I was going to follow. Hopefully, someone will be able to post an answer to your question. It is going to be stunning using batiks.

You can use this site to calculate the dimensions of a square in a square, which is what snail's trail is after the first 4 patch.

Gale - Are you looking to find out what size each "square" should measure after sewing each round? For a 12 " finished" block it will end up as 12.5 unfinished so .....

the first 4 patch unfinished should be 3 1/2"
The second square unfinished should be about 4 3/4"
The next square unfinished should be 6 1/2"
The next unfinished should be 9"
and the last will be 12.5" unfinished
