Love it! And I'm usually not a fan of the red/white/blue color scheme. But you picked just the right shades of the colors so that it doesn't scream "4th of July"! They blend so nicely. The pattern is nice also.

P.S. I also had to Google "batting buddy"! Looks like it's some sort of window template.

d9p is one of my favorite patterns but I have not seen it come out like this. How did you cut your 9 patches?

well, duh, I didn't think to google it!!! But now that I have, I guess it means this quilt was a "quilt as you go" project and the batting buddy assists in getting the correct batting piece for each block.

I love the fact that the two families didn't let anything stand in the way of their friendship. The quilt is beautiful, and it will remind him that you still care about his happiness. Bless you.
