Default Bonnie Hunter Celtic Solstice Quilt

I'm making the king size Bonnie Hunter Celtic Solstice Quilt. I added up the number of pieces and think that, before borders, that there's 6,198 pieces. Has anyone else came to this conclusion, or am I incorrect in my assumption?

Adding up the pieces in a quilt before you start is always a mistake.

I love to tell people how many pieces are in my quilts. I just made Bonnies Ocean Waves and it has over 4,000 hst. I think that is a cool fact.

I never count up how many pieces are in my quilts BEFORE the fact--except for my first Baltimore Block. A single 18" block had 81 pieces and that was one of the simpler ones!!

I have NEVER counted the pieces in a quilt before. Don't want to really know what a challenge I am facing !!!

Oh dear. That sounds hard, but very impressive!

I made one 9" block once with 64 pieces. Only one. I did a terrible job on it.

In the words of Gomer Pyle, "GollllEEEEEE, Sarge!" I'm impressed. Guess when I get to that stage of my quilting "career," I will have earned similar bragging rights. Tee hee. Are you impressed that my current doll quilt has just 12 pieces, 17 if you count border and backing? Me neither.

Is this pattern available at all any more? I've searched Bonnie Hunter's blog and her list of books, but it seems to have disappeared.

Celtic Solstice has been taken down. It will appear in her next book.

I made my Celtic Solstice queen sized. I was going to count the pieces but decided to wait until I quilt it.
