Default My DUH Moment

Bet everyone but me knows this. It has always annoyed that my needle unthreaded (is that a word), whenever I used my thread cutter. Just tried raising the presser foot then cutting. It's worked prefectly the 10 times i've tried it.

Do you mean the automatic cutter on the machine. Mine won't cut unless the presser foot is down. If I try it beeps.

I leave my foot down but spin the wheel until the needle is up.

I have the Brother 1500 and the manual and the dealer said don't use the cutter without the foot being down. What machine do you have? If you have the Brother 1500 there are a few fixes to stop the needle from coming unthreaded.

I have a Janome 7700 and use the automatic cutter all the time and my needle has never unthreaded. I leave the presser foot down.

My Janome 6600 won't cut unless the presser foot is down. Never comes unthreaded. Maybe there is an adjustment that can be made.
