    Default Today's article on making t-shirt quilts

    I think an important fact was left out of today's article about making t-shirt quilts. T-shirts stretch in one direction, as does the fusible interfacing. When applying the interfacing to the t-shirt, make sure you apply the interfacing so that the stretch of the t-shirt is in the opposite direction of the interfacing. In other words, if the t-shirt stretch is across the shirt (left to right) make sure the interfacing stretch is up and down.

    When I do t shirt quilts, I don't use the stretchable fusible stablizer.

    When I make T-shirt quilts (or any using knits) I do not use a (stretchable) interfacing either, I use non-woven fusible stabilizer. (Wovens have a little stretch/give to them, non-wovens do not)
