Default Well ... not my favorite ... but ...

I've made the large blocks before, at 12'' and wondered how it would work larger. Didn't go so well, did it? The red is too dark and the white is too stark, and there should have been three to make a zig-zag. Looked funny with just the 2 set at opposing angles. And I was hoping to make a dent in the box of 3'' squares ... looks like I never removed anything!

Wouldn't you get round the White fabric my opposing the blocks. I think it's good, I never think of putting proper blocks into all the little blocks. I am going to have to try it.

I like it! Maybe if the white had been ecru or tan, it might not look to stark to you, but I love one-of-a-kind quilts.

I rarely use stark white in my scrappy quilts

I think it looks GREAT! I also think putting a border of the red all the way around it would frame it nicely. If you don't like the stark white, your quilting can really tame it down. Myself, I like the stark white in it.

I really like the colors you used in this...and with all those lovely matched seams, i think it's a shame you don't love it. Just an idea - if you're really not happy ...do you applique?...What if you put a simple flower in the center of the white triangles??

This is one of those quilts that doesn't seem to work displayed but really shines and rocks it when on a bed. Sort if like the sack dress on the rack at store. Looks shapeless but when put on, vavoom! Same with this quilt. Nothing is off at all. Nice job.

I would continue and make more blocks. The white can be toned down with quilting. It is the perfect canvas for something fun and if you use a tan thread it will make it not seem so stark. I think this will make a great scrap quilt if you keep going.
