Default What does it mean?

I have been quilting for a few years now and I was thinking is there any meaning behind Red and White Quilts or Blue and White quilts? Don't get me wrong I love these quilts. I'm was just thnking about this while quilting my wall hanging today and I was wondering if there is a story behing them.

I have never heard anything special about them. I think they are just very pretty in their simplicity. I'm about to make another one myself.

Reminds me when a friend was called to her daughter's school and came home very upset. Teacher was upset because daughter was coloring with all blacks and brown crayons. When Mom asked her why, the kid said the other children had taken all the bright colors and she didn't have anything else left. I think it's because we just like the colors !

Very interesting reading for this chilly Sunday morning. Thanks for posting it. And, just to let you know, I love those red on white and blue on white quilts. I haven't made one yet but it's in my future, I'm sure.

Thanks for the info. I love blue and white quilts and am working on a blue and white log cabin at the present....inspired by another member of the board. I made a blue and white Dresden that my son insisted on having and hope to make more.
