    Default All Aflutter...Finished Baby Quilt DP4 Butterfly Variation
    I machine quilted this myself on my sewing machine using a "Big Foot"...It was great fun, but I need a lot of practice. I really struggled with getting my tension right. But I'll definitely be trying FMQ again on small projects. I used a multicolor thread (pink, purple, yellow, blue, green) for the butterflies on both the top and bottom. For the background I used white thread and just meandered around the quilt with loops and swirls. I don't know the tricks for getting good lighting for really good pictures of the quilting but hopefully it shows enough to give an idea. I'm giving the quilt to my friend (the baby's grandma) and I actually beat the baby's birth (doesn't happen too often for me ).
