Default Help with Memory Quilt

My neighbor died Saturday, Her granddaughter wants me to make a quilt with her clothes for her grandfather, I am honored to do this for him, my question is what is a good pattern to use for a man that is not very hard to make, I want to make something that is going to be very special for this wonderful man to remember his wife of 66 years. I am also going to make one for the great granddaughter (who is 4) and taking the loss very bad. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

It all depends on what fabric you have to work with. Cotton house dresses you can use any regular quilt pattern with a little cotton yardage as needed. Thick fabrics it is best to stick to simple off-set squares.

I think anything you decide will be appreciated. When we lost my nephew in an accident I made quilts with his clothes for my sister and her family. I did 2 that were Jacob's ladder pattern (his name is Jacob) then I did 5 that were simple 6" square blocks. That kept the shirts looking like his shirts more, I wanted to be sure to keep him visible. I did purchase some filler fabric Good luck and I am sure your efforts will be appreciated

Thank You. Warm Wishes it is. This is the first time I have seen this pattern. I Love it!!!!!! She was such a sweet lady and her husband is such a loving man, I am so proud to be able to do something special for him.

My husband is disabled and I have back and shoulder problems. I have to help him get out of the recliner by pulling on his arms which is hard on him and my back as well.

Last night this neighbor came over to our home and said Merry Christmas and delivered a lift chair to my husband. It was his wife's chair and he said that he knew that my husband could use it and he was sure his wife Dot would have wanted him to have it. I am still in tears over this thoughtful gesture.
