That's great, jaba, love it. How big will you make it finished size?

I made another, a little different. Not sure if I like it. But it is what it is, right? Hopefully, some child will like it.

ok, worked all afternoon yesterday and running errands in the morning. I couldn't go scrappy, had the orange piece left over from fabric I bought from Joanne's online and when they sent it I got an extra 1/2 yd free because it was all that remained on the bolt - YEAH!! and it went so well with the HSTs and had just enough to make the sides, so here's how it came out.

I really love this block, quilt design...but....strange things are happening....ok, like none of the blocks I am currently joining were in the first twelve that I made for this mystery....it keeps morphing...these pretty fabrics in the new HST were pouting because they have reclined in stash for this entire century (truth:everything being pieced today is 'teenaged)...all last week I thought of these new blocks as pretty butterflys....this morning laid out on the dritz folding cutting board..........they are definitely Star Wars....'Fantasia broom' like they have swirled around and taken their places....and the SW theme music, I can't get it out of my head.....do I, should I, let the fabric dictate?

Default Butterfly scrappy quilt

I was like Jaba the time change effected me, I worked on this until one pm. After church and lunch I put the last border on. My husband picked out the border fabric which made me come up with a name for it
Butterflies in the Garden. I really like this pattern Judy, thanks again for your leadership.

Wow, BettyB , loving yours and thanks. I think that may be the way I go - just need to decide what to do for a border. thinking I'll finish with the black 2.5" squares but not certain for the rest. then again, I have enough of the constant to make a 2.5 inch border of it with enough 2.5 squares of the orange to make them - reverse. does that make sense? wow, time to go cut fabric and see if it will work.

Beautiful quilts everyone. Judy right now it measures 72" X 96". I keep looking at it and rearranged it again. Split that gold up a little more and then started with the darker, then light, then dark and light again. Think I like this a little better to split the colors up. Do you think it flows better? The butterflies really pop and an awesome orange and black.
