Default I started another quilt--but

I've started another quilt. But I'm not sure what color triangles to use for the smaller triangles. I have 3 of the colors triangles, already cut. Check the info on the 3 pictures, that I've posted. This is the block in the magazine, called Flying Dutchman. This is the dummy block, I played with. The smaller triangles is what i need a color for. The smaller triangles is the light purple print, around the green triangles. Here are the 3 colored triangles, I have already cut out. THANKS for everyones input

Yellow might look good too

It seems to me that the fabric for the smaller triangles should offer a contrast to the fabric for the inner pinwheel (the green fabric in your dummy block). Which of the fabrics are you planning on using for the inner pinwheel?

With the three fabrics you have there, I'm thinking add something in the gold, tan, brown neighborhood.

Of course I don't really mean "should" like it has to be that way, more like "here's one idea that I think might work."

You seem to have the bold fabrics on the outside edges of the block. Is that the part of the block you want to accent??

I think the black would make the green pinwheel stand out. The red is too close to the red you already have, and to me, the dark green doesn't go with the other colors, but that could be just the photograph.

I read this question as he's already planning on using the black, red, and green fabrics that are in the bottom picture and trying to come up with a color for the fourth fabric. Maybe some clarification is in order.

That's the way I read it too.

It might help to know which of the three (black, red, green) will be the inner pinwheel that will "match" to the yet-to-be-chosen color.

However ... it's clear that you will need a light color to contrast with the other colors.

I think I would choose a white, or white with gold, or gold with white. Something with not too much print, plainish - to settle the eye.

I agree a light is needed for good contrast, I would go with a yellow or gold-ish or something creamy. I love the block!

Default SORRY everyone for the confusion--& a lay out roughly

Sorry everyone for the confusion. Maybe you get a better ideal on the small triangles, I want to use. With this picture. Thanks everyone. DonThe smaller triangles around the green, will be another pinwheel.
