Are there any suggestions for cutting out the pieces for a Drunkards Path. Are there templates out there that anyone can recommend. I've look at YouTube for sewing the pieces but just wondering if there are any aides available to make the quilt easier to assemble. I've made many quilts but never one with curves. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I used templates that you could cut your pieces with a rotary cutter....marked a 1/4" line and hand sewed....lots of prep work but well worth it

I confess...that i have cheated the one time i made this pattern for someone who wanted it.
I made circle templates out of card stock.....cut fabric circles about 3/8" bigger and basted around the edge - laid the card stock circle in the middle, pulled the thread to shape the circle....then starched and pressed and removed the card stock. (each one is good for several circles if you are careful and don't get them too wet) I made all the necessary circles.....then cut them in 4 pieces and laid them on the squares of fabric.... Blind stitched (of course you could machine stitch) around the circle arcs - then removed the under fabric and sewed the squares together.
Didn't really need a pattern.....i used only 2 colors....and just looking at one of the quilts you can see how the blocks go together.
It took WAY less time, and a LOT less frustration than i would have spent had i done it the "traditional" way.

I used a circle ruler from my set of longarm rulers. This ruler is divided in fourths so I could easily place the halfway lines on a square of fabric and cut with my small rotary cutter.

I have seen them done several ways. First with the circle appliqued onto the square, then cut into 4's. Also, saw a video where they had taken the glue pen and glued the edge of the curve, then sewn.

I just watched a tutorial Eleanor Burns. She has a pattern in her book of thirty's patterns. Don't recall the name, but look her up on YouTube.

I bought a set of acrylic templates but I gave them away and never used them. You would have more accurate cuts using an acrylic template.

I would just check out the different videos and find the one that you feel would best suit you. Jenny Doan also has a Drunkard's Path video. I hate waste but you can always take the waste and turn it into a scrappy quilt.
