"Our Excellent Road Trip:
My DD and I did the Row by Row last year and I really got into collecting the license plates. In addition to the ones I purchased on our road trips, we contacted friends in other states to pick up plates and row patterns for us. Then I went online and found many plates that were being sold online. I kinda went overboard and ordered waayy too many. I also found the pattern "Road Trip Quilt" by Handcrafts by Jennifer. We changed the taillights on the pattern to resemble her 1965 Mustang convertible and used her 'PONY' plate on the rear of the car. We personalized colors of the driver's and passenger's hair and shirts. My family and I all also have personalized plates and I wanted them in the quilt. We photographed all the plates and printed them out on fabric. Pattern called for a 56 1/2" x 53 1/4" quilt. Mine ended up 63 1/2" x 58 1/2". I've never done applique before, so I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out.
