Default White on white pattern resembling the white turf lines on a football field?

I'm having a quilt done for my son's graduation in 2016. I have purchased all of the fabric for the background, etc., but my husband had this great idea that the back of it should resemble a football field. https://www.fabric.com/buy/0349155/f...ck-white-black (I'm not really using fleece, but this is what the fabric looks like) https://www.fabric.com/buy/0343818/s...ass-turf-grass https://www.fabric.com/buy/0358764/v...-texture-black What I'm trying to find, is a white fabric just like the green turf grass ideally. Bear in mind...I do not quilt and I'm not a sewing person either. I'm on this site for help from people who do this a LOT more often than me and can think of something cool that might work for white turf grass. HELP!!

Welcome to the board. I normally go and look at what other quilters have done on Google or Pinterest.

One of them is from McCall's Quick Quilt magazine and another seems to be an actual football panel a field. Real cute and simple

Thanks for your post! I've seen those kits with the whole field done. I'm more thinking along the lines of using the green turf grass that I already purchased and finding some white-on-white of some sort to make the lines. My quilt size is 83 x 117" so those kits won't work.

I wonder if a white heavy terry or chenille might work? Is there such a thing as heavy white terry cloth or heavier chenille??

Wow, sounds like a really nice graduation gift for sure! I know they have white terry even in the fabric dept at walmart, not sure about how heavy it is, have never bought or used any. I'm sure chenille is for sale at some fabric stores, but have never looked for it. I made one small chenille blanket out of flannel years ago, gave it to my grandkittie! Good Luck!

I don't know where you might find some, but I think terry cloth might work. I really like the green fabric- look so real, also the black board looking fab. with the plays on it. I purchased some football fab like the fleece only mine was not fleece-from Wal Mart a year or so ago to make a table runner or pillow for my son. Anxious to see the finished quilt. Welcome to the Board.

What about this https://www.fabric.com/buy/0396347/altiora-texture-gray
It kinda has the look of turf if you put the 2 fabrics side by side.

I would ask the person who is making the quilt for suggestion. Anything picked would have to be within her skill set.
