Default What do you do with a fabric that won't stop bleeding?

If I can return it - I try to - but most of my fabrics have had a chance to "age" - so I probably no longer have the receipt.

II no receipt - I discard it - in the waste basket! I will not donate it and cause someone else to have problems. Sometimes I will use it for practice runs with the serger - but no way will I use it for something that will actually be used.

Wonderful as Synthropol and color catchers may be - the people I give quilts to will probably not have it /them on hand or remember to use it/them.

I have a couple red pieces like that. Going to use it to make grocery totes. It bleeds so bad you can see it on black. I've washed it 5 times in hot water. May give it to DH to cover machinery.

It comes out of my sewing room and put in the utility closet in a basket with other discarded cloths for one time cleaning use. DH likes the big pieces for his shop floor when he does spray painting or working on mowers, ect. After one use it gets tossed in the trash. This is how I get rid of old sheets, towels, tablecloths and drapes.

I toss it. I think it's the safest thing to do. I will give it a good wash several times in hot water and if it doesn't stop, it's out.

If it doesn't respond to a Retayne treatment, it goes in the rag bag.

Throw it away unless you can use it for a pet bed or something like that. So irritating when that happens!!

Clothesline baskets! I have used several questionable fabrics for baskets.

I had several yards of navy blue i purchased from a LQS while traveling... fabric looked and felt great ///then the test i could not get it to stop bleeding... I just tossed the whole piece so I would not be tempted to use it at all. sorry this happened to you.
